  About :

My first experience with "real" tea was at a Zen monastery located near my childhood home. Tea was often a welcome respite during the day's visit. I've come to appreciate and enjoy most teas - from the hearty Assams and earthy Pu-Erhs to the exquisite Darjeelings and the most ephemeral whites. My days usually progress with the aid of several cups.

    1. BA24 :  South African Honeybush, Grade A

This southern African herbal produces a liquor with a full, rich flavor and honey/peppery notes. When I want to get creative, I blend equal parts of Lapacho (BH33), Rooibos (BA14), and this Honeybush (BA24). This blend is flavorful, sweet, and full of antioxidants, polyphenols, and even some phytoestrogens.

    2. BA38 :  Rooibos Vanilla

I have grown fond of this tea through tea parties with my two year old. 1/2 Rooibos and 1/2 milk seems to be a good mix. He let's me know when I don't get it right when he spits it out and says "yucky".

    3. TB84 :  Robert Fortune Blend 41 (Darjeeling-Yunnan)

This blend reminds me of a Lapcho style Darjeeling. A full level of pungency with "toasty" notes. This tea will support a little milk, but I usually drink it plain.

    4. TJ34 :  Organic Green Ku-ki Cha Kamakura

One of my favorite afternoon beverages, and a great addition to a sushi meal. Sweet delicate notes and a gentle herbaceous character.

    5. TJ77 :  Spring Harvest Kabusencha

I love the full flavored cup, with the thick, almost brothy mouth feel. Good umami. Relatively pricey, (and yes, it is nice not to have to pay for tea) but good for multiple infusions. Don't pooh-pooh multiple infusions, one gets additional caffeine, flavor and enjoyment from the 2nd and subsequent brewing.
